DeSales students express gratitude

Students at DeSales Elementary/Middle School gave thanks last week as they gathered together as a DeSales family for a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. Students from all grades were intermingled at different tables to ensure students were making new friendships. Older students helped out the younger ones as all the Thanksgiving dinner favorites were passed around.

During the meal students were asked what they were thankful for this year. Their unedited answers are as follows:

“I am thankful for my friends, family, my teachers, our wonderful cooks. I’m also thankful for my house and the things I have.” ~ Kenadee Schnuell, age 14

“I am thankful for turkey, house, my mom and Dad, Jackson and Owen, grandma and papa, Grandma Kathy and Grandpa Chuck.” ~ Isabelle Goltz, age 4

“I am thankful for life, family, love, kindness, Jesus.” ~ Sydney Becker, age 10

“I am thankful for family, friends, animals, church, school, teachers, and lunch.” ~ Katrina Hageman, age 8

“I am thankful for mom, dad, food, drink, friends, jobs, God, faith, school, clothes.” ~ Isabelle Kipp, age 9

“I am thankful for Jesus, mom, dad, school, grandma, grandpa, life, earth, people, food, plants, love, kindness, hope, God, dogs, living.” ~ Josie Bohr, age 9

“I am thankful for my mom and dad because they provide me love and food. I thank my teacher for teaching me.” ~ Trey, age 10

“I am thankful for my family.” Hanna Vagts, age 6

“I am thankful that everyone can get together for Thanksgiving.” ~ Paxton DeVilbiss, age 14

“I am thankful for DeSales students who brighten my days.” ~ Mrs. Engen, teacher

“I am thankful for the service men and women who protect us and help others in need.” ~ Mrs. Lofte, teacher
